TET exam


Teachers eligibility test (TET) is conducted for  teachers within the state by the central government and the state government of India.  Candidates should obtain more than sixty percent  in the TET examination. Working teachers participating in the examination should clear the exam within two years. TET is conducted every year.  And this examination is for teachers willing to work with the Government of TamilNaduu.
Who can apply for the examination
Only Citizens of India should apply for the examination
Candidates should have at least 50 % of marks on their University degree and more importantly
Candidates appearing for TET examination should not be above 38 years of age as on 01.01. 2013
Upper age up to 5 years is allowed for SC/ST candidates.
Vacancies.
Approximately more than 4500 teachers are needed every year. So the competition will be more.
Eligibility criteria:
Candidates attending TET examination should have passed Bachelor’s degree and should have completed diploma in Teacher education.
The examination will be conducted in every local city. Candidates willing to take the examination should concentrate on the major subjects with seriousness.
Application fee details:
Applications for TET examination can be received from the DEO (District Educational Officer) application form and prospectus costs RS 50/-
The examination fee is Rs 500/-
SC, ST and differently abled candidates should pay RS 250/- for the examination.
Payment should be made at any SBI (State bank of India) branch. With the Challan attached with the prospectus. Any payment mode is accepted.
The issue of Admit card or Hall ticket will  be given to every candidate through post before 15 days of the examination. Or it can also be obtained from the official website

Syllabus
The Syllabus for TET exam will be as follows;
The TET exam paper consists total of 150 marks (one word) each question carries one mark
Structure:
Paper I
Child Development and Pedagogy – 30 marks
Language 1 – 30 marks
Language 2 – 30 marks
Mathematics – 30 marks
E.V.S (Environmental Studies) – 30 marks
Total – 150 marks
Paper II
Child development and pedagogy – 30 marks
Language I – 30 marks
Languages II – 30 marks
Maths,  science, and other subject  teachers will write their exams with 60 marks
Allot sixty minutes for each section.
Tip – allot 30 minutes for each section in order to complete the question paper fully.
Every year more than 5 lakhs candidates attend TET examination.  The Tamil Nadu government gives concession for SC/ST, OBS and differently abled candidates.

Validity of the certificate
Candidates passing in TET examination will be given certificates and the validity is maximum seven years for all category from the date of issue.

A good teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to give light. Teachers take TET exams to maintain and shape the society for future generations. Everyone says TET selection process will be tough. That is true, but is is very simple to clear it. Candidates should take full effort and concentrate on their subject.  Understand and study subject core for in. Believe yourself and have confidence while preparing for the examination. Stop fixing limits to yourself, study how much you can. Don’t get distracted with anything while studying. Recall everything if you completed your preparation. It does not mean that you should study for the whole day. Study when your mind is free.
